As we head into a new year, I’d like to celebrate the clients who persevered through the entire book publishing process during a very challenging year.

Starting with books on the business shelf, I provided copy editing services for attorney Emina Poricanin’s comprehensive reference work, The Employment Law Manual for New York Employers (Poricanin 2021). I also worked with Gary D. Urban to shape the stories and advice in Uncle Gary’s Business Foundations: A Beginner’s Guide to Personal Preparedness (Urban Partners Inc., 2021).

One fascinating book goes behind the headlines of the June 1985 hijacking of TWA Flight 847. Mark C. Bodanza vividly shares the experiences of one of the hostages, Ralf Traugott, in Hostage Terror: Ralf Traugott and the Hijacking of Flight 847 (North Hill Press, 2021).

Several authors focused on health and wellness topics. I enjoyed working with Martha R.A. Fields on The Okinawa in Me: Finally Finding My Ikigai (Reason for Being) (OKI ME, LLC, 2021) and was delighted to see her publish it this fall. Alyssa N. Stout spun her own story into a book intended to help others find a path through difficult experiences, in The Unspoken Journey: A Survivor’s Guide to Navigating Trauma.

And finally, on the inspirational side, I had the pleasure of working with Deborah Evans Hogan to shape her book, Mystical Partnership: Extraordinary Experiences of an Ordinary Life (Amethyst Light Ministry, 2021). One of Deborah’s requests to me as her editor was to preserve her authorial voice – individual, inspiring, and full of loving energy — and I’m delighted that so many reviews and comments reflect that working together, we did just that.

Update: I need to add one more: Ron Elkin (aka, The Computer Doctor), published his book in December, Where Is My Tech Stuff?!? The Computer Doctor’s Prescription for Keeping All Your Passwords in One Place

So, congratulations to the “Class of 2021”! In addition to providing developmental editing and copy editing on these projects, I was also fortunate to work on a number of other books, both non-fiction and fiction, that are still in process and should be out in 2022. If, in the coming year, you find yourself in need of help with a book project or other content development projects (websites, newsletters, or blogs), please get in touch – I’d love to help!

Happy New Year!
